Scott Ackerman

Chief Executive Officer

Scott Ackerman is the CEO of TuneCore, and serves on its Board of Directors.

Scott received his B.A. in Business Communications from Pepperdine University, and his J.D. from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University. He has held executive operations positions at American Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and US Airways, and served as the VP for Customer Care and Call Centers at Orbitz. Scott then took on the position of VP of Customer Service at eHarmony where, in 2009, his department earned Customer Service Department of the Year from the American Business Association.

Scott joined TuneCore as Senior VP of Customer Care in 2010, and became Chief Operating Officer that same year. In 2012, he was promoted to the position of President, and in 2014 he was appointed CEO. In that time, Scott has overseen the expansion of TuneCore’s digital store partnerships and affiliate Artist Services programs, as well as TuneCore’s 2015 acquisition by Believe Digital. During Scott’s tenure, TuneCore has also opened new offices in Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, New Orleans, France, Germany, Japan, and the UK.

Matt joined TuneCore in 2010 from TBWA (an Omnicom company) where he served as Financial Systems Manager and developed and implemented the strategic plan for TBWA’s North America Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation. Prior to joining TBWA, he held a similar position with Agency.com, who was the industry leader in interactive marketing.

Matt started his financial career with Guy Carpenter & Co. (a Marsh & McLennan Company) as an Accountant. Over his nine-year tenure, he took on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities, culminating in his role as an Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Finance department. Matt holds a double MBA in Financial Management and Information Systems from Pace University and a BS degree in Business Communications & Management from Adelphi University.

Director, Operations

Sean Daley oversees the Customer Care and Content Review & Rights Administration teams. 

After receiving his BA in Rhetoric & Popular Music from SUNY Binghamton, Sean joined the TuneCore team as an Artist Support Specialist. Sean rose through the ranks of the Operations team, moving up to the Lead Agent of Artist Support, then Manager of Customer Care, Manager of Operations and now Director of Operations. 

As Director of Operations, Sean strives to provide current and prospective customers best-in-class customer care, as well as keeping his team up-to-date on new store features and  partnerships, and making sure TuneCore is delivering content to stores that adheres to their strict formatting and style guidelines.

Sean takes pride in representing TuneCore’s customer base when it comes to working across the different departments of the company (Product, Technology, Marketing, etc.) to make sure we’re launching the best products and services we can for our artists.

Sean performed in Punk and Hardcore bands throughout high school and college.

Troy Denkinger

Troy comes to TuneCore with over 20 years in the software development field. His experience spans architecting new systems based on identified needs, building complex systems, and quickly bringing systems into production in a high-demand environment.

Troy has spent 14+ years of his professional career in the digital music space, having previously worked at TotalMusic, IODA, and AOL Music Now. Most recently, Troy was Vice President of Engineering at relentlessGENERATOR, a division of Sony DADC New Media Solutions. Troy has led large software engineering teams in the successful implementation of several business-critical initiatives. While at Total Music, Troy led the build for the “cloud” that provided a set of APIs so that developers could access music metadata, socially created content (such as playlists, ratings, reviews), and streams; and had total responsibility for all backend music and data processing systems while at IODA.

Troy is a Certified Scrum Master and holds a BA from the University of Northern Iowa.

Kedar Frederic

Kedar comes to TuneCore through the acquisition of DropKloud and is co-founder of HardHill Media. Kedar is a creative force with 10+ years experience in music management production and songwriting. He has written over 300 songs, co-managed independent artists, and run a recording studio to help independent artists hone their craft. Kedar founded a promotional company while working for Show-Off records under DJ Statik Selektah (now of Shade 45) and worked with major and independent labels from Landspeed to Def Jam running street teams and guerrilla marketing tactics.

Kedar also honed his product promotion skills during 5 years as VP of Sales for a custom candy manufacturer helping to grow the business to millions in revenue with key accounts including Starbucks, Macy’s, and 7-Eleven. He holds a BA from Bridgewater State College.

Andreea Gleeson

As the Chief Marketing Officer, Andreea leads TuneCore’s global multi-channel marketing initiatives, focusing on growth and retention. In her role, Andreea oversees all areas of marketing, including branding, creative, paid media, content, social media, and analytics. Previous to joining TuneCore, Andreea had a successful 11-year career at Lord & Taylor, most recently serving as Divisional Vice President of Marketing where she led the omni-channel marketing strategy for the entire department store chain. During her time at Lord & Taylor and its sister store, Hudson’s Bay Company, Andreea also held multiple leadership roles within the eCommerce team, where she drove the digital strategy and grew the Lord & Taylor and Hudson’s Bay sites from the ground up, surpassing the volumes of the flagship stores for both chains. Andreea graduated from Pace University with a BBA in Marketing from the Lubin School of Business.

Shelby Kennedy

As a music industry veteran, Shelby Kennedy continues to utilize his passion for developing music creators. During his tenure at Lyric Street Records, Kennedy’s involvement with SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts firmly established the label. He also introduced Alan Jackson to then bourgeoning label Arista Nashville. In the recording studio, he works from both sides of the glass as a producer and a background vocalist. As a writer, Kennedy’s first cut was recorded by Ray Charles, and he counts Reba McEntire’s “I’m A Survivor” among his favorite triumphs. Graduating from Belmont University in 1985, he received the inaugural Mike Curb School of Music Business Award of Excellence in 1996. He is a rare executive to have served writer and publisher relations for both ASCAP and BMI. He has been an adjunct professor for the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University and has served on Nashville’s Board of Governors for the Recording Academy as well as the Board of Directors for NSAI. He hails from a musical family: his mother sang on The Louisiana Hayride; his father is legendary producer and Hall of Fame musician Jerry Kennedy; his brothers, Gordon and Bryan, are award winning songwriters; his wife, Sheri formerly served sales and marketing at Capitol Records in Nashville and their son, Gavin is an instrumental artist/composer. Kennedy currently serves as Vice President, Entertainment Relations for TuneCore where he cultivates relationships to serve today’s music creators in areas of digital distribution, publishing administration, and other career-building services.

Nicholas Krus

Nicholas leads the Acquisition Marketing Team as Director of Acquisition and Analytics.

Nicholas received his Bachelor of Economics and Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University. He then worked as an Analyst at Warner Music Group before starting at TuneCore.

Nicholas oversees the customer acquisition and marketing analytics at TuneCore, helping spread awareness about TuneCore’s best-in-class music services, and provides guidance and strategy across various cross-team initiatives. He is most proud of his work accelerating the brand awareness of TuneCore’s services around the world. 

Nicholas had a brief try at being a touring musician, but called it quits after sleeping in the tour van one too many times.

Andrew Migdail

As Vice President of Operations, Andrew oversees TuneCore’s customer care and copyright teams, manages legal and human resources matters, and is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s partnerships with digital music distribution stores. Prior to joining TuneCore in 2012 as Director of Legal Administration, Andrew developed a wealth of knowledge in various facets of the entertainment industry, serving as a paralegal at Sloss Eckhouse LawCo LLP in New York, where he primarily worked with independent filmmakers and musicians, and as an assistant at William Morris Endeavor in Los Angeles. Andrew holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Gillian is the Vice President of Publishing for TuneCore. She comes to TuneCore with wide-ranging experience gained from both the recorded music and music publishing businesses. Most recently, Gillian headed up the North American Creative, Business Affairs and Operations Departments for Blue Mountain Music Publishing. Prior to Blue Mountain, Gillian created and oversaw the Publishing division and the Film & TV licensing and soundtrack album businesses for Wind-Up Entertainment. She has also served as music supervisor on multiple independent films and led the Film & TV Music Department for Clive Davis’ Arista Records in Los Angeles. Gillian holds a B.A from Middlebury College.

Natalie Roger serves in the Human Resources Department of TuneCore as HR Manager. Natalie received her BA in Advertising with a Minor in Communication Studies from the University of Oregon. Prior to starting at TuneCore, Natalie was first a People Operations Specialist at Everyday Health, and most recently an HR & Talent Specialist at Mashable. Natalie manages recruitment and onboarding, training, career development, benefits administration, compliance, policies and procedures, company culture, and employee relations.

Our Artist Support Specialists work directly with TuneCore artists via email and phone to help them distribute their music online, answer all TuneCore related questions, and resolve any issues they have with their music or services.  

Content Review & Rights Specialist Team

Content Review & Rights Administration Specialists review new releases for proper formatting and quality, work to ensure that rights are properly administered for TuneCore content, and administer sound recording rights in YouTube’s Content ID system.

Brooklyn has always been known as both a home and a source of inspiration for countless independent artists throughout the years. That's why ever since we launched our original website back in 2006, no place has felt more like home to TuneCore than Brooklyn, New York.

TuneCore has always fostered a special relationship with the Brooklyn and greater New York City artistic community. Through local events, live shows, and lots of memories, we're proud of all the opportunities we've had to connect with a place that has influenced so many of the artists we love.

Austin, TX

AMY LOMBARDI

Director, Entertainment Relations

Amy Lombardi, Director, Entertainment Relations, leads TuneCore’s office in Austin, TX working closely with artists and music industry professionals while increasing the brand's presence throughout Texas. Amy began her music industry career in NYC at A&M Records. She joined the Artist Relations department at Warner Bros. Records before settling into a publicist role for the label, working with R.E.M., Red Hot Chili Peppers, Van Halen and Seal. At Nasty Little Man  PR, Amy was a publicist for Neko Case, Foo Fighters, Radiohead and Beastie Boys, among others, and then founded the boutique PR firm, Call Girl PR, in Chicago where she created and executed breakout PR campaigns for The New Pornographers, Alejandro Escovedo and Neko Case, and introduced new audiences to seminal artists such as Wire, Jandek and Jimmy Martin. Around the same time, Amy also founded and led the talent management firm Beekeeper Corp., home to three-time Grammy-nominee Neko Case, singer Kelly Hogan, singer/songwriter Cass McCombs, indie dance trio My Gold Mask, and Americana duo, Escondido. Amy is on the board of the Austin Music Foundation and an Advisory Board Member for Black Fret. 

Amy saw Queen live and immediately developed a crush on Freddie Mercury, a fun fact that will only matter to people who know who they are.

Atlanta, GA

JONCIER RIENECKER

Manager, Entertainment Relations

As Manager, Entertainment Relations at TuneCore, Joncier is responsible for establishing and nurturing client relations throughout the Atlanta region, an obligation befitting of her down-to-earth and funny personality. 

Joncier attended Ithaca College, obtaining her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and Journalism. While earning her Bachelor of Arts, her taste grew for pursuing a career in the music business. Her appetite began with Radio Broadcasting and she worked as On-Air Talent for the institution’s station, 92 WICB-FM. By the time she graduated, she had ascended to the position of Urban Director for the station. After graduation, she held on-air positions for a few Internet radio stations in New York City, before working for ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). She began as Receptionist for the Membership Department in 2007, where she put her writing skills to use, eventually becoming editor of online/print content for the Rhythm & Soul Department. In 2010, she was promoted to Membership Representative for the Rhythm & Soul Department, servicing members within the southeast U.S. region. In 2015, Joncier was promoted again to Associate Director for the Rhythm & Soul Department and was tasked with overseeing the Gospel division – a special responsibility given due to her personal attention on the market. Following a successful 9-year tenure at ASCAP, in 2016, Joncier transitioned to TuneCore.

Joncier met former pro basketball player, Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal in Guitar Center and he gifted her with her first DJ controller.

New Orleans, LA

ERIN FRANKENHEIMER

Manager, Entertainment Relations

Erin Frankenheimer is a graduate of Tulane University with dual degrees in English and Communications. She worked for Entercom New Orleans after graduating and co-created and launched a late night show, "The Conduit," focusing on new music discovery. She then spent a year as an A&R representative for Columbia Records, later returning to Entercom New Orleans, where she produced and hosted her own new music radio show on B97-FM, "Face the Music." In addition to hosting/producing a radio show, and managing musicians, Erin also worked as the Director of Youth Programs for The Tipitina's Foundation before returning to Los Angeles in 2010. There she assumed the role of VP of A&R at Amazing Radio, A UK based radio station that features new and emerging artists, until 2014 when she took a job with Live Nation in New Orleans as the Marketing Manager for Louisiana & Mississippi. Frankenheimer is now the Entertainment Relations Manager for Tunecore's new, New Orleans office.

When Erin and her husband said, “I Do” at their wedding, Big Freedia stood up shouted, “you already know!”

MATHIEU ROUSSELOT

Director, Entertainment Relations

After a Master's degree at the Toulouse Business School, Mathieu decided to combine his passion for music and his professional career by turning to the music industry. Following his studies, in 2008, he first worked at Wagram as Marketing Project Manager, then joined the distributor IDOL in 2010 where he was in charge of the global Trade Marketing and was also Label Manager (Kitsuné, Infiné, Ubisoft Music...).

In 2012, he joined the Deezer teams where he supervised the commercial relations with all independent distributors and the acquisition of new catalogues. He then developed the Deezer Business Department.

In 2016, Mathieu joined TuneCore where he was first in charge of the company's development in French-speaking countries, then in Italy, before overseeing all European territories since 2018.

London, UK

NATHAN BARLEY PHILLIPS

Manager, Entertainment Relations - UK

Prior to his recent appointment at Believe Music as Entertainment Relations Manager for TuneCore UK, Nathan Barley Phillips formed Basick Records in 2005 and set about the task of developing a forward thinking record label for heavy music. Releasing early material from emerging UK bands such as Enter Shikari and Fellsilent, the BASICK label soon became synonymous with the cutting edge of heavy genres, going on to release music from Misery Signals, Bury Tomorrow, SikTh, Skyharbor, Devil Sold His Soul and Napoleon among many others.

Now a fully-fledged international record label nominated three times in a row for a Metal Hammer Golden God Award, BASICK continues to be one of the forerunners in its field.

On top of his day to day duties with TuneCore, Barley also holds a seat on the board at the Association Of Independent Music (AIM); a trade body organisation based in the UK that represents over 800 music companies, from some of the largest and most respected independent record labels in the world, to small start-ups and individual artists releasing their own music for the very first time.

Berlin, Germany

René Jacobi

Manager, Entertainment Relations - Germany

René comes to TuneCore with over 15 years in the music industry. He received his Bachelors Degree in Recording Arts from Middlesex University and his Masters Degree in Music Management from Danube University.

René started his professional career as assistant engineer at Studios 301 in Australia. As engineer and producer he worked with numerous artists, with productions released under Universal Music and licensed to Netflix.

In 2008, he founded a management company with focus on talent scouting and artist development. He worked with emerging and established artists and achieved signings to major record labels and publishers. He initiated artist and brand partnership projects with Chevrolet, Harman and JBL. He also initiated and curated a monthly showcase format in close cooperation with independent and major record companies.

In 2018, he joined the TuneCore team and since represents the company in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

René spent his early years in the underground electronic music scene of the 90s until he discovered his love for electric guitars. Now, he can be spotted at concerts anywhere from Pop, Rock, Blues and Jazz to Classical.
